OKLAHOMA CITY – A dangerous outbreak of powerful tornadoes swept across parts of Oklahoma and Kansas on Sunday evening, leaving at least 7 people dead and dozens injured as entire neighborhoods were leveled.

The National Weather Service confirmed multiple tornado touchdowns, including one EF4 monster near Oklahoma City that carved a path of destruction more than a mile wide. Emergency crews are still searching through rubble for survivors.

Devastation on the Ground

Hundreds of homes and businesses were completely destroyed. Videos circulating on social media show massive tornadoes ripping through suburban areas, flipping cars and tearing roofs off houses. Power outages are affecting over 150,000 customers.

Local hospitals are treating dozens of injured residents, with some in critical condition. Governor Kevin Stitt has declared a state of emergency and requested federal assistance.

Ongoing Danger

The Storm Prediction Center warns that more severe weather is possible into Monday morning, with additional tornadoes, large hail, and damaging winds still possible across the southern Plains.

President’s Response

President Trump was briefed on the situation and stated: “Our hearts are with the families who lost loved ones in this terrible tragedy. The federal government will provide all necessary support.”

This is one of the deadliest tornado outbreaks in the region in recent years. Meteorologists say unusual weather patterns this spring have created perfect conditions for violent storms.
